Ok I'm bent over and ready for the kicks .... hopefull not too many. Last week I tested with a couple of dozen indoor no flash and some outdoor with the Canon 24-70 f8 and the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX DG macro. All said about 80% of the shots looked sharper and more defined with the Sigma. I did notice the Sigma seemed to have a brighter contrast almost across the board. So the decision ... $1200 versus $400 ..... Usually I do not let the money do the talking but after the test I did. The Sigma arrived today with the new Canon 20D battery grip also. Now that is a very heavy heavy camera now. Hope the pics are what I expect.
Ok I'm ready .. anyone want to kick me for the decision (then ya'll can be nice on my next challenge, It's less painful this way ;)

No kick from me. I just ordered the same lens, for the same reasons. Good luck to both of us! |

Great, I see you have the same Canon 18-55 kit lens. I've taken a lot of great photos with it but just not as sharp as I wanted. I know that PS can fix some of it but just wanted a little faster and sharper to start with. Fingers crossed for both of us.
