Attention Bugzeye:
U said: Nkon has This This and This
Had u read my post completely; u wouldn't have posted that reply.
It is clear from the links u mentioned that Nikon really doesn̢۪t have anything like this. The glass featured in the first link is f/2.8, thus not comparable with the one I mentioned. It might stand a chance to position itself few kilometers behind Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM.
The lenses featured in ur second and third links are 500mm and 600mm respectively. Therefore no entry forms available for those.
Thanks for trying.

I did read your post completely, I was just pointing out that they have glass very capable of shooting birds. Wasn't really going for an identical twin here. Some kind advice to you because you are very new here. Take things a bit less serious. Or you may find the welcome wagon running you over.

No offence meant, it’s part of the legendary Canon Nikon squabble – nothing to do with who’s old or who’s new. This argument has been dragging on and on probably will continue this way. At the end of the day it is the users/customers that benefit from it as both these giants strive to beat each other by introducing more and more new technologies and products. Once one is habituated with one brand, switching is a difficult decision to make as all the accessories particularly the glasses will be rendered useless. Nevertheless, I’ve come across Canonias that switched from Nikon and vice versa.
However, for the hobbyists the switching is all the more difficult unless there is a clear winner. And that may never happen in the foreseeable future. Enjoy ur Nikon gears and entertain people with wonderful captures.

I use a 50mm 1.8 for my birds.
I bring them to me. |
