Found this guy/girl in my garden this morning. Never seen one like this before.

Looks like a Scarlet Tanager, maybe female or male in cryptic plumage (?)

The dark green wings tend to tell me it really is a Scarlet Tanager. However, I could be way off if you don't live in North America.

I'm going with scarlet tanager as well.

It looks neither like an African nor European swallow, unladed air-speed velocities be damned.
