I just a new camera, with double the megapixles. Am I going to have more trouble making the file not to exceed 150k at 8mp (640x480) than at 3.2 mp (640x480)? |

8 million pixels =8mp; how big a file that creates depends on whether you record them in the camera as RAW or with jpeg compression. I stongly suggest you get a big memory card so you can take pictures at the highest quality your camera allows.
The 150k is the file size you are downsizing to after you've done all your adjustmests. Of course first saving a version at the largest size and quality possible so you'll be able to offer prints when you win a blue ribbon.:-)

no. it wont effect you. 640 is 640. you just took 9 or however many pixels and merged them into one.
