Ok, so just got back from my vacation to AZ and have started adding them to my profile. My first chance to photograph the Southwest with a digital camera. Will take me a while to post everything, so figured would add a few here for some comments or critiques. There are more in my profile as well if anyone cares to browse. Thanks in advance for any comments!

I left you a few comments...and well all negative. I hope you don't mind it.
You are doing good and little practice will improve things further :)

I have had a look thru and your composition is great. Your subjects and your eye for a photo are also spot on...
Now the bad news.
You seem to have used PS or similar to sharpen and it has produced a lot of noise into your shots. Knowing that you use a Fujifilm and having used one myself, I think perhaps there was some softness when using zoom, which you have tried to compensate for, this has produced the noise/grainy effect. Either that or you had the ISO set too high.
I hope I am not being too harsh on you, the shots are good. Correct whatever has caused the effect mentioned and you will have great photos.
Keep at it.

Hey Katherine,
I felt like the first picture had a little too much of a purple/red tint to the entire picture, and that those blades of grass were kind of distracting. I took a shot at cloning out some of the blades, as well as messing with the saturation and selective color in PS. I also ran the image through NeatImage to clear up a little bit of the noise in the picture. I hope you don't mind, here was the results.
Your shot
My Edit
Take care,
Dave

Thank you all for the comments. I tried playing around with the aperture and shutter speed while I was out there and apparently wasn't doing too good with it. I do use a tripod for all my shots. I appreciate all the constructive comments...that is the kind of feedback I need to learn more! No offense taken to any comments from anyone. Please keep them coming!
