I'm going to take some photos for a local jornal in eextance for publicity, but for what I've been told there's some good possibilities that I will sell some photos for the political campaign of the politics that are throuwing the dinner.

How do I cahrge it? Have anyone done this kind of work, for polotics.

And about action photos for magazines and newspapers? Do you charge per work or per photo?

Thanks in advance.

I can't help you much with pricing, but you basically never "sell" a photo, you license it for a specific use and time period -- have a written contract.

If you're dealing with a political campaign, I suggest you gouge them for as much as you can, like everyone else, unless it's actually a campaign you believe in, in which case you can discount the price as much as you want, down to $1.

Newspapers should have a standard rate for freelance photos.

tanks GenealE.

The photos came out allright. At least I'm pleased. But lets see if they want them :)

I haven't got a clue how to charge it although.

basically you will draw up a contract for a "one time use fee" The fee will depend on the circulation/ press run and the size of the photo printed. Here is a page with a good starting point for fees. We charge quite a bit more, but the photographer I work for has definetly earned his rep.

sorry- just read that you might want prints for a dinner not editorial fees. what you will want is to charge for display use only- the fees can vary a lot on that one so just do what you feel it's worth.
