Just want to ask if texts like "happy Birthday" or "Get well soon" will be allowed as part of the photo, in the Greeting Cards challenge... or will it be DQd?

It is not stated that it is allowed, so my guess is that it isn't.

From my read I think you would be DQed

you cannot add text during editing. however, you can print it out and add it to your photograph.

My reading of this was that the pic should be suitable for the area you would put it in without text, but the title would indicate the area. ie Happy Birthday would be the title and the pic would be right for birthdays, eg balloons, cake, flowers.

I have a great out of the box idea for this one so watch me bomb!

Well the challenge description says (excerpt): Take a picture for one of those "blank inside" greeting cards. .

Doesn't say it needs to be blank on the outside, and as Skip pointed out, you can have text as long as it was included IN the image - not a post-processing add-on.

i was just thinking this challenge is similar to the Motivational Poster challenge where additional text is allowed.



oh well. just want it to be clear.

Nope...would be DQ'd in this challenge.

That's right... there is no provision that would allow text on this challenge. When there's a deviation in the rules, you'll see a little icon beside the challenge description and prominent text that explains the exception or additional rules for a given challenge.
