My 6 year old is showing a lot of interest in taking photos. He has burnt through a few disposiables but looking to cut the cost down a little :-)

This is what I am after, so please suggest any specific models.

- I am not looking to spend too much, say < $100 would be good.
- Have no issues with 1.x MP, although something in the 2.x would be good.
- A little P&S that has un-fussy controls that a young kid could use.
- Would probably be hitting eBay or something but just need some direction with the thousands of P&S models out there.

Make sure you get at least 3x optical zoom -- when I got mine a non-zoom Fuji (after he'd been borrowing my Olympus) he got kind of frustrated and less interested in photography overall.

You might see if you can find a old Canon A65 (or similar) lying around in some store, or used -- that series of cameras seem to be the only P&S models which include the option of fully manual controls. They work with AA batteries and use (cheap) CF cards ...
