So I have now submitted to the "Thirds" challenge but was it a good call.
I spend 3 hours setting up the "Bubbles" picture only to go out and take what i thought was a better thirds shot.
What sort of votes would my bubbles picture have got, so I can see if i made the right choice. Thanks in advance

Bob, to be brutally frank, I would have rated the bubbles around a 3 or 4. I realize that not all bubbles are irredescent and floating in the air, but if you hadn't said these were bubbles, I wouldn't have known what they were.
I relate to your experience. I spent all afternoon fooling around with bubbles (in chocolate milk), only to have a perfect thirds picture "fall" into my camera in about three shots!
Moral of the story: Go with the flow. |

Hi Bob, it's a little hard to tell 'coz, when I vote, an important element is competition, depends on how many other "better" or "worse" shots there are. I'm a little new at this as well and maybe others have a different approach. As is, I would give it probably a 5 or 6. The thumbnail doesn't do the image justice 'coz it comes out flat. But the enlarged vision shows some good effort in colour tones and originality. |

Shot this for the rule of thirds, but decided to go with bubbles. |

Thanks for the replys, I think I would have given it a 4 for the challenge and 11 for the time I spent doing it ;-)
Well we'll see how my thirds entery goes. |
