geez. I just received my new sigma flash. Not wanting to sound to old here, but the last flash I bought was a potato masher sunpac AP 52 about 25 yrs ago. I thought that was petty hi tec. To bounce a flash, I estimated the distance from the camera to the bounce surface, to the subject, chopped off a stop or two for absorption of the bounce surface, then manually powered down the flash. Now I'd REALLY like to get my hands on the SOB that stole all my equipment and hda me take a 17 year break. Boy, have I ever been missing alot!!!

Yeah, getting stuff stolen sucks. I've had -- over the course of 14 years -- FIVE motorcycles stolen. If I ever catch someone in the act of stealing ANYONE'S motorcycle, they're going to get SUCH a beating.

I have the same flash. I really dig it. Congrats on the purchase. Two things, RTFM (read the manual) and get spare set of rechargeable batteries. It's a powerhouse, but it eats the batteries and doesn't recycle very quickly. The worst thing about this flash is that it doesn't have a plug for an external battery pack, which would solve both issues.

In my experience, my flash runs "hot" -- I have to manually reduce the power of the flash by 1 1/3 to 2 stops, then it works great.

The next on the wish list is an "off-camera cable" and a flash bracket that moves the flash away from the camera.
