Well, congratulations everyone. I'm pretty sure we have set the record for most threads locked or hidden in a single day. I cannot recall the last time I have seen the level of bickering, personal attacks, and general childishness I have seen today.

Immediately after I post this, I will be hiding the thread titled "Locking Threads" for personal attacks. I will also be locking all but one of the general rule change discussion threads to eliminate duplication. The threads will remain visible, just locked so that any further replies will be consolidated to one place.

Any further posts containing personal attacks will be hidden. I'm not going to bother taking the time tonight to do what I usually do and edit out the one sentence personal attack out of any otherwise valid posts. Frankly I've done enough policing today and I'm not bothering. If your post contains a personal attack, it will be gone, and that goes for everyone. That includes this thread -- no fingerpointing.

Regarding the prior locking of threads: It is clear that we need to develop a consistent procedure for dealing with duplicate threads so as to avoid misunderstandings, and I will bring that up internally.
