I have been pondering this one for a while and figured what the heck see what the peeps think.

The Mentorship threads are a cool idea and all but are the people that really need the help (ideas) getting it? Challenge after Challenge if you look at the bottom of the pack there are people who really are trying but just not getting it together yet.

Also many threads around here about the volume of entrants in the basic challenges. Many people stating that they won't submit because of the number of entrants.

I think this has been asked before but how would everyone feel about this scenerio? I would like to cut down the number of basic entries by 1 (mine) and help someone who really wants the help. (no I don't have anyone in mind). Between you and me, I learn by showing.

Keep in mind I'm not the best photog but I would really like to take one person who is struggling to get out of the 3's and 4's as a study buddy, and work with them from concept to finished entry in BASIC challenges via email. Possibly do it over weeks or months.

I WOULD NOT enter any basic challenges. I WOULD NOT touch their photo in any way. I WOULD NOT give the individual a concept for the basic challenge but offer ideas to enhance their origianl thought process.

I would only offer advice through the concept stage and critique their entry before submission.

How does everyone feel about something like that?

I just feel their are many who are really trying but just don't haven't quite go it together as they may not have some of the resources the rest of us have.

Anyways give me your feedback on this one.

Thanx...Andy
