I'm no portrait artist, but I think the post processing lets them down slightly. I think, on the first especially, you have sharpened too much with a radius that is too high (note the halos). If you can upload an unprocessed version of the same crop that would be great in helping people help :)

no doubt about it, i have done classic shots and processing before, and in fact my entry is more traditional. I am simply pushing my conceptual thoughts here. And they all were not entered for a reason, because I liked my entry the most. thanks for opinion though Konador.
