OK I know that this is the Digital Photography contest, but I just had to share. Though I resisted for years, I finally embraced digital a few years ago and now use it for about 85% of my photography. I now take advantage of digital strengths, and use film to cover its weaknesses. But I found another reason to love digital. What it has done to film equipment prices. Yesterday I traded a well-used AF Nikkor 18-35 f3.5-4.5 that I used for underwater only for the followingâ€Â¦
Nikon F3
Waist level for F3
Nikon MD4 motor drive w/ mr-3 release button & Ah-3 tripod centering bracket
Nikkor 55mm f2.8 macro
Nikon SB-12 Speedlight
Mamiya RB67 Pro
Mamiya 180mmm f4.5
6x7 120 back
645 120 back
Prism finder & WL finder for the RB
All in good (not collectable) user condition. The guy just got a D100 and needed a lens. I feel a little guilty, but he offered.

Wow, that's a lot of stuff..! I would be horrified if all my camera investments all of a sudden were obsolete :( - it took me long enough to save up the money to buy the stuff I have now!

Damn.... I need to know people like like that!
I sold my MF gear (Mamiya 645) to make the deposit on two lenses for my canon, and although I'd not used it for three years I sorta miss having it sitting on my bookshelf in the office! :-).

Same guy has a mamiya 645J w/ insert & prism that he only wanted $50, but I passed. |
