when i started my blog back in dec 2002, i needed a name. i remembered a line from a poem i once wrote: "The ever-presence of kudzu, like a blanket of grace, growing green over every other thing" so i figured i'd go with that for a title. growing up in the south, i guess the kudzu creeps into the subconcious... and it seemed to work as a good metaphor for a blog even more when i added this tag line: "A tangle of green thoughts taking over the landscape of my mind."
not sure why i picked it to use instead of the name of my gallery (autochrome. picked out of a dictionary of photography terms) when i joined up here... oh well...
over the years i've also been known as kanji, qoheleth, and just plain old shane...

Looked it up. Wondering (but not too hard) how it applies? ;) On second thought, not sure I want the link that would come along with that explanation. j/k |

Oh that makes me so happy! So many people hated it because it wasn't scary (like it was led on to be) but rather, a love story. It's silly how people can't even appreciate it for the amazing visual (not to mention the music) it was! He breaks filmmaking rules and makes it work- he is amazing.

I just copy and pasted this from the older thread, because I'm just lazy like that. :-)
Kinda lame really, but here goes.....
In my teenage and young adult life, I was an MTV addict. I watched the Real World religiously. There once was a girl on the show named Genesis and I thought to myself "Hey, what a cool name". Now being that my name is Jennifer and my maiden name was Jones, it's easy to say that it lacked any originality and forget about getting any kind of a screen name. Along comes Genesis, drop the "G" and add a "J" for Jen and there you have it.
Nothing religious about it and has absolutely nothing to do with the band. And that's that..... the genesis of jenesis.

!!! I agree...my friend brought it over and told me it was her favorite lovestory and I just raised an eyebrow at her until I saw it. I applaud the vision that man had. It was very well done!
Again with the self-hijacking *snicker* |

Aguapreta is "Black Water" in Portuguese and also happens to be the name of a small community along the Xingu River in Brazil, about an 90 minutes by motorcycle from Altamira, the town where I live. The Xingu River is a tributary of the Amazon River and Altamira is located on the TransAmazon Highway.

As for mine (also my licsense plate) and generally confused with 'see da cootie' but actually short for cool daddio cootie. It came about originally as my mascot (a little gottee'd and beret wearing little cootie bug) for Engleneck news a satirical news site I ran and was the byline for the 'reporter' CDCootie of the AP news Liar . Over time I grew to like the paradox of cootie and cool daddio togather and have continued on as CDCootie. More than anyone cares to know I'm sure but thanks anyway. Glad to read a fun thread with no whining!

Well, I also love to ride my bicycle, and in february bought a new blue Kona (after my Trek got stolen) that came with Tioga Blue dragon tires... By a pure chance from before I had a blue camelback, blue helmet, blue mobile phone and 2 of 3 of my bike jerseys are blue :))) It seems it was my destiny to become blue_dragon... :) |

I think mine is pretty self explainatory.
I always tell my family to " smile big for me one time, please" which translates to " smilebig4me1x" I love to see people smile and if Im not taking a photo of them then I have to joke around with them until I do see them smile at least once before they leave. :o)
