DSC f717 light issues - DPChallenge Forums

I have a dscF717, I am having some trouble with getting my shots to be bright, I was wondering if adjusting my white balance, or Exp. Value would help.

I was also wondering if the "one push" white balance works very well. Thanks in advance.

Fill Flash may help also. What kind of subject are your shooting? Any examples?

Sorry No images just yet, I do shoot alot outside,Landscapes ect. Would I be able to use a fill flash very well on land scapes?

Also, do I just stick the image ID# in with the thread to insert the pic??

By the way, I just checked out your Portfolio, You have some really Good stuff, I really liked "falls"

Longer exposure on a tripod would help. Using something like F8 to keep as much of the landscape in focus. A remote would also help, or putting it on a 2 sec delay to help from blurring. Filters like ND (Neutral Density) filter, Circular Polarizer filter, can help with overexposure of water, bright objects, etc.

I have shot the 717 for over 2 years now and adore it (see my portfolio). Never had a problem with brightness, and yes, the push-button white balance works amazingly well. See your manual for specific how-to, but for me, zoom into an all white spot (or card, etc) in the light you are working in and push the white check. It does a great job of adjusting for the existing light.
