Well, after much internal debate, I finally joined and entered my first challenge. It was the sincerity and helpfulness of the members in this community that overcame my newbie trepidation. Although, still intimated by the awesome talent, I have no where to go but up. Thanks

Hey Fitzie - join the crowd. Just remember to have fun and enjoy...but do be careful of that darn update button. I've only been around a month myself, and it can be disheartening. Fortunately, there are some really cool people around here willing to help us all improve our skills.

Enjoy your times on here, but here's one warning, don't try and enter too many challenges at once, just do the ones you think appeal to you, or you may get discouraged at some low scores at the beginning. I believe we're all guilty of jumping in and trying every challenge and then wonder why we are not improving, without sitting back and thinking of the composition, lighting etc.
You'll learn a lot of valuable information and get inspiration for great shots, and will get the buying bug for more lens etc. :-) |
