what about something like this? i'm a big fan of cut-off images in situations like this.



a couple of thoughts:

if you're going to print these yourself at home, maybe make up 3 or 4 different styles -- all the same, but with different photos. at my old job, we each had an "icon" on our card (mine was a hardhat, someone else's was a piggy bank, etc.) that made them like a baseball card almost. i took that idea when doing my current cards and have a different photo that fills the back of the card, with logo and contact info on the front. people respond well to the variety

also, i picked another of your shots 'cause the face was a little off-putting. it's eye-catching, for sure, but on a business card? maybe. maybe not. if it's possible to do color, the color shots would really attract attention.

i would stay away from drop shadows and gradients. i'm also a fan of sans-serif fonts on cards.
