Yes, Sherri, I think they will. You can play with it but it needs to be "full color" I think.

I like portraits that are "in your face" without much background at all.

I think the people who are just "playing around" in here will go for the potraits of the beautiful without considering much else because it is human nature, but I think the people who are serious about photography ( hopefully the majority of the people here) will really base their judgement on the quality of the photography. Alot of people here consider themselves as amateurs cause they don't do photography for a living but most of them know their stuff either in one area or another, so collectively we have a powerful group of sharp eyed, detail oriented people who know a great photo when they see it, even if the subject is considered ugly by most standards. They know it's not a beauty contest, it's a photography contest.

Read the challenge description - the way I read it, it means COLOR! It says your subject MUST be in color (which is harsh language for DPC) and specifies that monotone or duotone (sepia) isn't allowed. Desat photos, ALMOST b/w, are practically duotone - so I wouldn't risk it.
