I thought it was more along the lines of an observation that the longer a thread gets the higher the likelihood that some comparison to fascism or nazis will be made...something like that. |

Yes! Godwin's law!!!
"Godwin's law (also Godwin's rule of Nazi analogies) is an adage in Internet culture that was originated by Mike Godwin in 1990. The law states that:
As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.
There is a tradition in many Usenet newsgroups that once such a comparison is made, the thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups. Many people understand Godwin's law to mean this, although (as is clear from the statement of the law above) this is not the original formulation."

That's because you're a nazi.
Moderators, please lock this thread as it's over. Ask Godwin.

Where as fascism is still a recognized and strong force in many political systems, it is in no way included in Godwin's law. Caparisons to Musolini on the other hand are.

lol - how strange, have never heard of this before.. it's a bit peculiar to read something so unscientific be stated in a scientific manner.. but i guess it does have some truth behind it, sooner or later.. assuming the thread involves some kind of diagreement or argument.. the random photo thread doesn't seem to be heading in that direction anytime soon :P
