My husband dropped my camera bag earlier (bag strap broke) today which held my Dimage A1. A little while later, I turned my camera on and it shook for about 10s and the picture on the display flickered. After about 10s it was fine, except that now the Anti-Shake button continuously blinks instead of just glowing yellow. It seems to me that it is having a difficult time auto-focusing, as well, but I might just be paranoid there. I'll be taking a lot of pics with it tomorrow to test the quality.
The camera isn't under warranty anymore and I have no idea how much this will be to repair. Have any of you had any experience with getting these repaired? Should I just look into getting another or maybe an upgrade instead? I adore this camera and my husband is just devestated that he broke it.
edited to add: everytime I power up the camera, it does the shaking thing for 10s, display flickers, then its ok except for the Anti-Shake button blinking all the time.

i'm sorry...i don't know much about that specific camera. but your credit card company normally adds another year onto the warranty period, if that helps.
if it's not been over a year since the warranty expired, you can contact your CC company and see if they can help you out. it's worked for me a couple of times. :)
best of luck. mine just got back from the shop, so i know how emotionally devastating it can be... |

The used value of your Dimage seems to be in the $550 range and they go for about $1,000 new, for whatever that's worth. It's conceivable repairs for what you've described will be pretty expensive if you don't have warranty coverage.
