I finally got around to clearing out all the junk I had in storage at my parrents house for the last few years. I had all sorts of goodies over there. actually enough to build a PC. Its an older ASUS MB A7V133 with a 1ghz AMD processer and 640mb memory, 40gb pri HD and a 15gb sec HD, 64mb ATI video card, network card, floppy drive, cd drive, mouse and kepboard. plus the tower. all of this stuff was from 3 seperate PC's I have built over the years and upgraded 1 componet or another.
Im gonna sell this thing, what do you think I could get for it these days?

Seriously? I don't think you could get much for it at all. That's the nature of computer gear. It depreciates in value faster than cars do!
Why don't you just use it as a server of some sort? Put Linux on it (which will make use of older hardware very efficiently), throw in a larger hard drive (or two), and make a file server out of it. |

yea I know I could not get much for it ( I figured about $200 max), unless I suckerd somebody, which is very easy to do with PC's. I tried linux a few years ago and I just didnt like it and I really dont have room here for it (meaning the wife says it has to go away)

| just but a hard enclosure and make the drives a portable one :) the other drives are worthless IMO... the memory isn't up to par anymore with the ultra fast ones we have right now... |

... a working floppy-drive may be a rare commodity sooner than we like to think, just when you really need a copy of that letter you wrote in MS Word 4.0 ....

years ago i had an AMD slot A processor (750mhz) that I sold on ebay cause I got a faster processor.
I figured it would sell for $20 to $40 because current new processors (slot A) that were faster were going for $70
it sold for $220 + $10 shipping.
so yes there are people willing to pay a LOT more for something used than what they can get a new one for.
