When critiquing a picture, and sometimes in forum posts, I use abbreviations, and other members do also. I realize that some newer folks may not be familiar with them, and other terminology. Waddia say we have a Glossary?
In the interest of saving time to do more critiques I like to use "bg" for background, "dof" for depth of field, but I always wonder if the person, whose work I'm commenting on, knows what I'm talking about.

This is a very good idea. Maybe we could make it dynamic, so users can submit their own abbvs. and so the list is fully working. Of course the additions would have to be screened by a mod first.

Great idea. Both a page of standard abbreviations and a glossary of terms would be useful. Have a link from each word or abbreviation to its own page where there can be an expanded definition, and maybe a thread for member comments, additions, citations, or examples.
