My "Save for web" hasn't been working properly lately.. if I convert an image to sRGB, then use Save for Web and have "Use Document Color Profile" checked (like I always have in the past, and it worked then..), it somehow still manages to save as Adobe RGB. I've tried Uncompensated Color to see if that will do anything and the result is also Adobe RGB. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

It used to work for a long time until I changed some color settings in PS (though I forget what - but nothing complicated).. and now there's no way I can save my High Contrast submission at under 150k without a huge loss in quality!! Eep! Help!

Uncheck the "Use Document Color Profile"

Save for Web writes it's own sRGB profile for the image to best blend a more limited pallette of colors and optimize an image to be viewed on the internet. Checking the "Use Document Color Profile" sort of defeats any action Save for Web would accomplish.

It's not something you can uncheck - you have to choose one of the options, right?

Your error is in "converting" to sRGB; instead, use "assign color profile" when you make sRGB your working space out of the modes menu.

I don't have to do that and mine works fine. I keep my images in AdobeRGB or in a custom color profile, change the image size, then select Save for Web from the file menu. I go to the little arrow and hit Optimize for File Size at 150k. I leave everything else alone in the save for Web dialog box. I then press Save and Save as Type JPG with Default Settings.

Save for Web should automatically default to sRGB.

Well, it's not so much the method that I'm wondering about because I know it worked before this same way. I'm wondering if anybody has experienced this problem and fixed it (probably has to do with some settings elsewhere), because I think I remember Artyste or somebody saying that they had the same problem with their "Save for Web" option.
