Anyone going tomorrow? This should be fun. organizers are expecting large crowds again this year. too bad there's no TV coverage but i think OLN will be there.

I'll try to use Alanfreed's tips on sports photography :)

I wish. Is it too late to fly out and stay with my sister?

I took over 500 photos today and I'm pretty happy that I can use 75% of them :) I got to use my 70-200L f4 today and I'm very happy with the results.

The SF Grand Prix is said to be the hardest of all domestic races due to the steep hills and the course. The Taylor Street and Filmore Street climbs are brutal at 18% grade on both streets and the riders have to climb it 12 times! You can see the pain in their faces as they went up the hill. Even at 18% grade, they were still averaging about 15mph! I have to hand it to these guys.

Anyway, here are the photos. Thanks again Allansfreed for posting the tutorial on Sports Photography 101. It came in handy. Please leave comments if you can :) Thanks.

I saw a whole bunch of people out there with cameras. Actually spoke to some and compared shots. Anyone else from here go there? Just curious. What was also funny was that we were all set up at basically the same spot at one point and all you can see were the grey canon lenses. Kinda cool sight :) And yes, there was the "occassional" Nikon in the group. My friends shoots with a D70 and was interested in seeing the vast majority of people out there were shooting Canons.

Care to share pics?
