For my portrait business, I want to create a way for my clients to view their proofs online. I don't want to use a company like pictage, etc. because I want to keep my clients costs down and not have them deal with a middle-man.
So, does anyone know any way of doing this that works well? What software could make a quick online gallery that I could upload with multiple folders (for each pose) for my clients to see and select the photos they want developed?

Check out IMO the best DAM out there Extensis Portfolio. Besides making the galleries that you want it handles your whole workflow.
I have over 50,000 images on my computer and it allows me to call up any image almost instantly. It search tools are what impressed me the most. You can do a search for say every image shot at X location or even any image shot @ 5.6 with this lens, etc. |

I like this comapany Lustrecolor
The actual site for the proofs is here. .PROOFS
you actually upload the images they host them and you set the prices you wish. Then when the clients order the funds are sent to you. There is a small upload fee up to 100 images but after you reach the amount of $20.00 you pay no more so 100-60,000 images will all be just $20.00. They also do GREAT print work.
