With what has been going on for the last couple of days in New Orleans one can ony think of the movies Escape From NY and LA.

New Oreans on Thursday

I'm back from Bayou la Batre. I saw a lot of things in one day. Much has improved since tuesday when I was last down there. The situation is nothing like NO. The people for the most part are hopeful and optimistic. Some are sleeping in there cars and others in pop-up tents. Many houses were leveled and almost all the houses in the Bayou la Batre - Coden area that remain have major flood damage.

There has been looting in the area. I will post a few images of this later. This is not the same as the looting going on in NO. The looters here are not kicking in store fronts and running away pushing shopping carts full of Nikes. The looters here are scavaging through the possesions of the houses that were leveled. They are stealing things like jewlery and fishing rods. Unlike NO the people here are not waiting for the police to stop the looting as you will see when I finnish proccessing the images.

NOTE: SC, I would greatly apreciate it this time if when our local chapter of the Nazi party decides to post to this thread that the post be removed instead of the thread. This is a non-political thread. Thank you.

the world could use a few more people like you, martin--people who are willing to suit up and get the job done rather than waiting for someone else to do it for them. keep up the good work, and try to be safe.

you're reminding me of another movie...
