wow, I know it will be much appriciatd there.
my work is also collecting clothes, food, money and anything else.
We are also sending down portable emergency generators in efforts to help get communications back up in areas with no power or communications right now, we have disributed about 750 cell phones to police and emergency personell with more on the way, but limited cell coverage due to power outages and other outages are really limiting things right now

| I know the communications has been the biggest problem from the start, guess the whole country might learn from the problems and make a change. |

I work for Cingular wireless and one of our switching offices in New orleans is gone. Well its still there but everyting is ruined by the water and will have to be trashed. Estimated loss between 75 and 100 Million dollars or more. we had the foundation poured Several miles north of New Orleans to beging constructing a new office to keep up with growth.
Now they are completely redesigning the office and are trying to get this new office built ASAP, they are going for larger, stronger and better, but it will take it awhile to become operational.
we are sending down portable cell towers as well, we call then COWs (Cell on Wheels) |
