These are straight from the camera. I did try and play with them, but I was unhappy with the results. Perhaps some of you kind folks have suggestions?
EDIT: And just what exactly does imprive mean? :x

Are the originals in RAW format? If so, you might be able to get good results by exporting underexposed and overexposed versions of the RAW files, then selectively merging them into a single image with multiple layers. This would be similar to the process described in the article on LuminousLandscape called Digital Blending, but instead of blending multiple exposures you would blend multiple copies of the same image with different exposure compensation settings.
