I was looking at the galleries and I came across this wonderful photo:
My question is, What's the best and easiest way to do this (the white border and letters). Just adding a white border would cover alot of the photo. Is there a program to do this or can it be done in Photoshop? Forgive me for being so Photoshop ignorant. :) I have V7.0. |

Increase the Canvas size larger then the Image size or cut and paste the original image onto a larger white background. Then click on the Text icon to add your title.

Its pretty easy one you get the style down.
You can select your photo and use stroke to give it a border as well.
Then place the text underneath (or above or wherever) and use the move tool and align the text right left or center with the selected photo.
Here are a couple of gallery type images that I did recently:
By the way, the fonts I use (besides the Japanese) for the titles and the date/photograpers name are Trajan Pro and Dear John. You can find the Dear John handwriting script font on several Free Font download sites.
