Hey. I finally decided to buy the damn thing.. it was only 25 euros. So..

Here are some shots of the thing. i am not entirely sure what back it is. I'm suspecting A16 (slide?). Any help will be appreciated. There's a small ding in the chrome part (last pic). An estimate on it's price would be helpful too

omfg.

Oh, and there's this "window" in the front sort of "cropping" part of the film. i can't seem to detach it. What's it for?

Oh, and what the hell is the big hole going through the magazine?

you can't open the slide unless it's on the camera so you don't accidently expose the role of film loaded into the magazine.

What do you mean with a slide? the thin steel plate? the flipping cover in the back with the ISO markings?

neither of these seem to have any locking systems? am i missing something?

im only familiar with the a12 back but i dunno if there is much difference. thin steel plate is the dark slide , or slide yeah.
the dark slide is not supposed to have a locking mechanism.

why did you buy this if your dont know what its for?

ok...you leave the dark slide in, until you mount the back onto the camera body, then you pull the dark slide out so you can expose your film. if you dont pull the darkslide out, the shutter wont even fire on the camera.

I know what it's for, and how it works (mostly). I bought it because of the low price. I intend to sell it forward. i'm a student, and every little amount of money is more than welcome.

EDIT: Oh, and there's the fact, that now i can say i've owned some hasselblad equipment. :D

I believe that the hole that you refer to that goes through the magazine is a view hole for the frame counter on the film back. You look in it as you advance the film until the next frame number shows. I used to have one of those (without the flip cover that you have) until I traded it out for an A12 back.

Oh.. Apparently, it seems to be a film back for the 127 film. The "crop" window in the front is 4x4cm, as is 127 film. I guess the price tag just dropped quite a bit. They haven't made 127 since 1995, and today there's only efke 127 :(

I guess i can use it as an ornament or a paperweight then
