Here this morning it was $2.599 /gal.
They Just changed it to $3.209/ gal.
And all gas stations has lines like seen back in the 70's. Some backed up 1/4 mile in fears of gas shortages.

Some gas stations around here have not changed there road side signs. They still say $2.599+/- but when people (that have waited in lines as long as 30 minutes or more) get to the pups the price is $3.309/ gal. +/-.

One station in my area went from $2.69 yesterday afternoon to $3.09 this morning; and then jumped again to $3.49 this afternoon. And the radio is predicting it will be at $4 tommorrow. I think the government needs to step in and stabilize prices. Gasoline buyers are being exploited under the guise of Katrina as the cause.

I have not left the house today, but Im really clad I filled up last night for $2.589 a gallon my total fill up was 41.25

I just read on a local news station some places are up to $3.31 a gallon

here is an excerpt, kinda funny (in that bash your head into brick walls kinda funny)

"I was driving down West Bellfort. I noticed their sign. It said 2.75 and I needed gas. So, I thought, 'I'll pull up and turn around and get gas.' By the time I got to their pump, the price had gone to $3.31," he said. "I think that's a little bit steep to go up 56 cents on a turnaround."

I waiting on my wife to get home from work. I'm going to fill here car and my parents cars up. If I have time, some news reports here are saying that some gas stations in town will start closing around 6:00 pm because they will be out of gas. How true that is I don't know but it's on our local news and one radio station.

The bad thing is if we do run out of gas and can't go to work most places will not pay you (even if you have PTO) because of the "Act of God" Clause.

I filled my tank Monday...$2.45 for regular...ran out to do some stuff at noon today, it was $2.69...I'm thinking ..."glad I filled up on Monday"...2 hours later coming home I past the same station...$2.99 for regular...30 cents in 2 hours? Crazy-ness! At least I haven't seen any lines. I live right off RT 321 heading into the mountains, east tennessee...still really happy I filled up on Monday.

But you know what? At least I still have a home and a car and lots of fresh drinking water...makes ya think don't it?

The news just said that the main pipeline that feeds Georgia is inoperable and could take till the weekend to get it working.

That's the latest word I have from this part of Georgia.

Going to take my camera with me when I go to the pumps :)

I completely agree! We seem to be taking all this like a herd of sheep. Time to protest this price gouging. We all see through it....don't we?

just curious.. is there only a certain time of day they can change the prices (like 5pm or so), or can it be changed periodically throughout the day??

I so agree, I heard before Katrina that prices here would be over $3.00 by Labor Day weekend. The Katrina came and they found something to attribute a needed gas hike to. I emailed my governor and am going to email my senator and congressman. This is rediculous. This morning when I dropped my kids at school, it was 2.75 up from 2.69 last night. Then by lunchtime it was 3.09 and this is regular. I am seriously taking the day off tomorrow to save gas as someone else mentioned.

I made sure I filled up yesterday when it was still 2.65 here at Wawa. Went to work this morning, no price difference. Came home at 3, price jumped to 2.99 for regular.

I put 50 dollars to fill my tank :-\ and I drive a blazer.

Ours is 'like' one of the highest in the nation all the time (this a.m. before the change it was $2.79). I haven't left work yet, so I don't know what to expect.

But you know what? I'm not even going to complain because it won't do any good; it never does. Besides right now I'm alive, healthy, have a house and job both of which are intact, which a lot of people cannot even say.
