Yes, its a cool idea. Sandisk have announced a version of it with a hinged card:

I've yet to see one for real, wonder how durable they are? |

That's pretty clever (and so are the sandisks). But can't help wondering if we could have made things much easier if the SD connector (or any other standard) would have been designed to fit a USB connector directly?
Or the USB to fit a SD connector, whichever came first? :)
