Hi, now that the challenge is over, I would really like to know how I can improve this photo of mine. Most feedbacks commented on the upper part of the photo. Would cropping help? Or a different angle? Please advise, so I could improve. Thanks to all for the comments during voting, I appreciate it! Here's the photo:

I think it has good focus and overall appeal of a good solid picture, however it probably didn't fit the majorities idea of "dairy". Often times people take offense to their low score when the Picture is great, for an entry.... meh. I like it. And, I have not edited any of my pics, so I know its possible

Probably used hue/saturation to desat every channel but red; the only red in the picture would be the lettering.

Shadow, the subject aprt of your picture is very crisp and well-rendered, with luscious smooth tonalities. The background is very "accidental" looking and really detracts. Plus, I doubt that most people will connect a chocolate bar with "dairy", even if it IS milk chocolate. Perhaps if the label had said "milk chocolate" large enough to read...

thanks for the replies. Anyway, no I'm not bothered by the scores. Its just that from most of the comments left during voting, it seems the upper part of the image is a bad choice. I'm just thinking if I should have cropped the entire upper part off? will that help?

Bear_music, yup, I guess most people dont link dairy with chocolate :)

Fetor, its simple, I desat all colours except red.

Cropping wouldn't really help that much, be a weird shape for no real purpose then. It needed a better composition in the camera. What that might be I don't know, I can't see the setup, but all the interest is in the foreground and the foreground itself seems truncated, so there should have been more to work with.

Actuallyu that's not really true; I just tried a crop and it looks pretty ok. But even better to have a little more subject I think...
