| I can't figure out people's criteria to give a one or two. I mean, it's gotta be pretty bad in my book. Even a marginal shot will get a 3 or 4 from me. Maybe I'm too nice!! |

| I had 8 votes with all 10s to start the night last night. Then the trolls came out and within the next 15 votes or so, my score dropped to a 5.2! That meant I got a bunch of 1s and 2s. It's sad. |

nah - I figure a shot that meets the challenge gets a 5, unless it's really a bad shot, small, out of focus, etc.
Can't think of the last time I gave out under a 3

| Apparently for this challenge, that's pretty good. Middle of the pack seems to be between 3 and 4. I'm just over 4 right now, climbing since earlier this morning, but NO COMMENTS!!! ARGH! |

I think I've figured it out...
Roughly two-thirds of the pictures I've seen so far are shoes without people's feet in them.
Shoes exist to be on people's feet. Without some connection to a body, they seem like out of place props, thrown into some landscape to make a connection with the challenge.
The photos I'm rating high either tend to 1)Have feet, legs, people, or something in them to give the shoes a sense of purpose; or 2) Tell a STRONG story by themselves, so strong, that the shoes survive being disconnected from their people's feet.
I'm glad I scrapped my original idea of a pair of muddy work boots outside the doorstep, and instead went with something more human. |

mine have feet and some leg showing, but i have a 4.36. this challenge is quite pathetic.

Only my third challenge so not too overly disappointed. Still learning along the way. I had trouble when uploading this one...kept changing the dimensions on me and it just looks wrong when you pull it up. Oh well...
Try again with high contrast!
