the pictures are kept on your own webpage and you submit the page, my understanding is that then other people can simply look at your pictures. Because there is nothing there about copyrights or printing or reproducing, you retain all those rights and are only showing the pictures to others who visit the site and click on your link to it. Seems like harmless fun to me. :)

I'm in, but I agree with some of the others. The site is very vague. Hopefully they give more information on July 1st.
Have fun! |

I'll do the simple version.
1. Get list of 26 things (ie "Cars and Cats") to photograph.
2. Take out camera.
3. Find cat and car. Take pic.
4. Post pic to your own space.
5. Post link to your own space on sh1ft.org
6. Look at other people's pretty links. :)
7. The end

great... is it an individual thing only, or can a few of us pool together if the need develops? |

Based on the description, this is not a race but a challenge to see a nd photograph things differently. Based on that I would expect this is intended to be an individual thing.

I would say you could do it as a group too. If I was teaching a class, I'd split it into groups and use this list as a guide for my own hunt. I think it's meant in fun. There really aren't "rules" as there are no "winners." Basically they are going to post things. You go take your pics and put them on pbase or dpportfolio.com and then you link your site to their site and people look at your take on the 26 subjects.
Should be fun, thanks for the bump Kavamama.

For those who may have missed the reminder, here is the text of it:
This is a reminder email to let you know that The 26 Things Photographic Scavenger Hunt list will be posted Tuesday July 1 (Australian Eastern Standard time).
Don't worry! The list isn't too hard - i won't ask you to travel to the South Pole for the perfect iceberg! Each point on the list can be found around you and within your own town. There will be descriptions of each point on the website if you're stuck for ideas, though it is up to you on how you interpret each item.
On Friday August 1, there will be a list for you to add your link to your completed 26 Things page, on the website. Any questions can be posted over at Kinetic Effect.
Good luck and have fun!
Tracey

There's even a link to helpful descriptions of items to help you get going:

Looks like fun and there are no geographical limitations, everything listed should be accessible to everybody who wants to participate.

'everything listed should be accessible to everybody who wants to participate'...
I should say! It's virtually take all your photos that you've taken in July, and categorise them into these catch-all categories! |

I am sure you can be as specific or as general as you want. Create your own vision. |

People!
I have been a DPC memeber for only a few weeks, but everyone is so very "particular" here. Relax! (I would have used different vocab, but I like to keep my posts PG-13 whenever possible. But then I don't give a ...).
Anyways, 26 themed photos in 31 days may be a challenge to a lot of people here. DPC has 1-3 challenges per week (for paying subscribers), which is only 4-6 photos a month. I know I will be struggling to find the time, since I am in the office from 9 - 7 :(

Not to worry! This scavenger hunt is not a DPC event, just something in which a few of the DPCers have shown an interest.
