A shot that could be a still from a beer commercial, or a print ad for beer. :-> Yes, I know 'ads' has been done, but beer commercials are their very own genre, and might well get different sorts of entries.

what about those that are not old enough to purchase (or have in their possesion) beer....there are some minors on this site...
its a good idea, but some would not be able to compete in this one

I like that. It would be cool to avoid the big breweries too; there are so many regional and micro breweries out there these days. Could be very interesting.

There doesn't have to be any actual beer in a beer commercial. :-> Plenty of them have things like fast cars, sports, girls with big boobs, and so on. You could even photograph a glass of sufficiently dark ginger ale (quickly, so it's still foamy on top) as a decent fake for the look, if you insisted.

It doesn't even have to be a real brand - or any specific brand in particular.

Root beer in a glass might well make a good fake for guinness or the like, if lit right (especially with a little bit of ice cream in it to encourage opacity and foam). :-> He could entice a grownup of his acquaintance to pose with it appreciatively, perhaps with a foam mustache? :->
