I've toggled 'My Preferences' to:

Hide Nude Photos
After voting, do not show thumbnails containing nudity.

...yet they still show on the main DPChallenge home page (Nude III results)? This means to be safe, at work, I don't dare load this website in my browser! Fortunately I telecommute some days, so not every day is lost this week...

Interesting - when the preference mentioned above is selected, only Dr. Jones entry is hidden when I look at the top 20 results for the Nude III results. Other images have the 'Nude' gallery selected...what's the parameter for hiding Nude images using this preference selection?

Right now, we have to go through every single image and 'flag' it as containing nudity. Pain in the arse, and probably some will get missed, but we try. I'll go through and check this.

Wow! That is a pain in the tail... You would think that having the image in the "Nude" gallery would be enough to flag it - no?

Something makes me believe that Martin's portfolio is by default flagged as containing nudity. SC has to manually go through it and de-flag it for other photos... I call that optimization.

Hey thanks - it works now. Guess I can login to DPChallenge this week at work after all - hooray! ...I can hear some of you grumbling already! He-he. ;^)

Ok - I'm covered for work because I know not to open threads with the word 'Nude' in the title.

Right now I'm at home, preferences are still set to:
Hide Nude Photos
After voting, do not show thumbnails containing nudity.

The winning Nudes challenge images have the 'Hidden due to content' graphic in place, and the actual challenge results are all (mostly) hidden when you select that area of viewing.

However, if I open the thread Nudes - entries i truly admired.... the images show up?

I'm not some prude who doesn't mind seeing nude images, quite the contrary. ;^) However, if I was concerned about one of the kids seeing them - which I'm not too much really - I would have been surprised to know that setting your preferences to hide nude images after voting doesn't really hide them. You would think that if they are hidden once place, they would be hidden elsewhere on DPC also.

...wow, that was a lot of yakking for an issue that's not really an issue for me (except at work). Just thought someone (Drew, Langdon, or concerned parents) should be aware of it, that's all.

I'll let them know :) It was probably an oversite since the Nude feature and thumbs feature were added at different times.

Unfortunately this is an ~impossible task. The [thumb] shortcut simply gets translated into [img] using the direct URL to the thumbnail JPG, which in turn gets translated into HTML. Since we cannot process each [img] tag on every post real time, this will have to stay for now.

We could potentially offer an option to hide every image in a forum thread if the demand was great enough.

Edits: clarity.

well at least you can get to DPC from your work.

My company banned DPC a while back ago, along with a lot of other sites

Let's all take a moment to thank all the lawyers who through frivolous "sexual harassment" lawsuits have forced almost all companies to sterilize the workplace to the absolute maximum of political correctness.

Its the work place. If the internet isn't part of your job your costing the company money, and my bonus is based on the profit of the company....lol..
We have automated software that shuts down site that have key words. I lost my ability to go to this site on the last nude challenge. We went through some major conversions and guess what? I can get in, just can't go to pages with the key words or respond to chat I'll be in the clear.
