I was snapshotting Rosie Jack and Gretchen with the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 by lamplight at ISO 1600 (lots of fun) and sort of like this picture, but I'm not anywhere NEAR as good at post-processing people shots as I am landscapes and such. Feedback? Makeovers? Have at it.

Robt, I just took the skin tones down a notch so it's not as red... see my edit...

It's absolutly fabulous, especially for these conditions. The colours are right on spot, not too red actually, maybe it might be for the people who prefer colder temperature in pics but I'm used to warm colours so this about looks perfect for me. It also has a soft effect that's perfect for baby pics. I do like the crop you have here, what are the mesurements? It's not the usual 6x4 that's for sure. But I have to agree with rikki11 that the finger is quite disturbing but it's a minor detail. The photo is really flattering to the mommy in the background as well, I love how you capture the red of the lips. You don't actually need a lot of post-processing, but that's just my taste. I'm doing a quick edit for the folks that might prefer a lighter pic.

I have a title for the image based on the baby's expression: "Cold Rectal Thermometer". Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

I lost track of this one. Thanx, all, for the comments. Ennil, you have done some nice stuff there but for me it's too light. I tend tolike things a little denser.

lol ouch.

have you tried playing around with levels? the skin tones seem a bit dark. when i shoot portraiture, the pp work usually goes into fixing blemishes and stuff like that. so you get to practice a lot with the clone stamp or healing brush. but im sure you've already gotten very familiar with these tools. good shot, good expression

Hi bear... I took a stab. The shadow under the babys left eye was bothering me some so I dodged it a hair, but still couldn't get rid of it... I cut down on the red saturation a fair amount and bumped up the blue to bring out his eyes. I copied the layer and did a small amount of diffuse glow (I have a tendency to overuse that particular filter on my baby shots) Played around some with contrast and brightness. I was trying to give it more color depth and lighten it up a little, but the light on the side of the babies face kept blowing out on me. Anyway, I'm very new to PS and still have a long way to go. I hope my humble attempt helps a little.

Here's my 5-minute-before-leaving edit. Just gave it a little bit more grain for a slightly more "film look". Did some dodging and color burn and some other quick alterations. It's slightly different from the other edits posted but I thought I'd just give it a whack.
