Mine was the only one that tried to do a white on white image for the one light shot. Would it have helped if I had titled it 'the subject is light'?
here are the rest of the shots including set up.
Outtakes
Comment and suggestions would be appreciated. aelith |

I think the lighting was interesting... it just may not have been the most interesting of subjects. I think that for what it was, you did a great job. For me, it just honestly wasn't a compelling enough subject. (I gave it a 6...) |

Well, I'm one of the few that really liked the shot. I gave you a 9. I found the general pic to be eye-pleasing, the angle was great, the light source hitting at the right spot and good use of white balance. The cropping was great too as well as the focus. The only thing that distracted me was the hair in the lower right corner. :o) |

This describes how I saw it. I gave it a 5, "average" for me. Nothing really wrong with it, but nothing to make me sit up and take notice. BTW, I take a lot of shots like that; I am now understanding that. Unfortunately, I haven't crossed the line to where I know it is inspiring before I take it.

Uhhhhh, any one think maybe I should have used one of the other shots? I didn't realize the inclusion of a black background was nessessary. Would Happymouse have faired better? |

It's very beautifully lit. The cool thing about using a mouse as the subject is that it's so tactile. I can feel the curves and that plastic texture when I look at it. It's a very graceful looking object. If I'd voted last week I probably would have given it an 8, because it's technically very good.
One thing though, it reminds me a bit too much of an ad I can't seem to find right now, but it had a mouse with a mousewheel and a woman's hand fondling it, all arranged to infer female masturbation :).

Hehe... I can't find a big version, but click here to see a thumbnail of it from a google search.
I know it's not very similar to your photo, but I haven't been able to look at mousewheels quite the same way since seeing that image.
