They were not thought of as portfolio shots, just practise for me and pics for her, but I loved this closeup of just HER :)

Very nice work! I LOVE the second on, but looks a bit dark on my monitor? Beautiful model, and nice shots!

those are all very good portraits. The lighting, pose and all is very nice. It helps to be flat out gorgeous. |

She could be Cameron Diaz' little sister! |

That's what I was thinking. With a few pointers and a bit more experience, she could be a model. It seems like a good learning experience for both of you.

I know that's the first thing I thought, she's a real lookalike! And guess what, she's only 15!! ;) I'd LOVE to work with her again, I suspect she could do pretty good in the modeling biz in a couple of years :) |

Very nice portraits and a nice model too...
ik like this one the most:
However I think the placement of the hand is a bit odd, because it's such a close portrait you cant see where the hand comes from.
Well just a minor detail...
Beutifull shots well done. |

I like the composition and lighting on the first 3; the last one is a little more . . . artsy. Good pic I guess, just not much detail on the subject. Did you do anything to edit her skin?
Nice set. Lovely young person, too.

With a decent agent/agency working for her, some diligence and some breaks she could do a good job modeling now if this is how relaxed and natural she is in front of the camera.

Great shots. I'd like to see what the settings were for each, and how you set them up. Tripod, flash, etc. |

There is a book "written" by (actually by another writer) Rushumba, semi-retired Supermodel. I think it is one of those Dummy's books or Complete Idiot's Guide to Modeling. GET IT. It is one of the best "guide books" to the modeling industry out there. It shows what kind of photos a legit agency wants, how to get your foot in the door and the pitfalls to watch out for (ie: Modeling Schools and Competitions, etc) Anyone wanting to have pictures done to submit to agencies needs to have this book.
The best advice for photographers working to help a model "get discovered"
1. No distractions. Limit or eliminate jewelry.
2. No tree-hugging. They want to see the model, not the tree.
3. Show their personality. If they play a sport, get a good "bodyshot" in athletic wear.
That girl has a beautiful face and very Cameron Diaz looking. Hope she is tall and thin!
Hope this is helpful.......I wish we had this advice 5 years ago when my daughter was "breaking into the industry"!

Great model, great environment, results are great as well. Why weren't these thought as portfolio shots?
