Hoping someone can help.
I have an image with a resolution of 180ppi. The image size is 8.9 X 7.7
I would like to increase the resolution to 300 and the size to 8X10.
Can this be done and if so what would be the best method? Thanks for any suggestions. I am using PS CS

Use Image>Image Size and increase the resolution to 300 dpi and change the image size to 8x10
If you want to go larger then take small steps and increase the size in less than 10% increments.

...and what you have just said will not decrease quality? |

There is a tutorial on it.

Yes, I have read the tutorial, thanks for the link. From my understanding this increases the size but maintains the resolution ppi.
I also youl like to increase the res. without loss of quality. I am not sure an am asking for a better understanding. |

it is impossible to make something from nothing. All methods for increasing the size, resolution merely add pixels, which hopefully you won't notice. Depending on how you view or print it, most people can't tell the difference.

I think that once you get it to a large enough file size then you can change the dpi
you can google upsizing and there will be more help than I can give :0) |
