I have on order my first DSLR. The crop factor is 1.5. If I am using a 50 prime and it becomes a 75 does my minimum shutter need to be 1/50 or 1/75? |

You'll probably get a wide variety of opinions in response to this not-really-stupid question. Personally, I use the actual mm of the lens and multiply by 2 to find what I consider the minimum shutter speed for hand held shots.

The speed of the lens won't change, but your apparent focal length will, so it's a matter of how steady you can hold the camera. I can sometimes handhold a 50mm lens on a Canon at 1/15 or less, but your mileage may vary. |

If you can normally hold a non cropped 50mm at 1/50 then yes you should shoot at 1/75 for a 1.5x crop factor camera.
