Seems to be a lot of chatter going on in the Nikonians D200 Forum.
I for one and anxiously awaiting the release of this baby.
If a the specs are correct, this will basically be a 12.4MP little brother to the D2X.
With all the Canon chatter on here, I figured I give us Nikon folks something to talk about.

| The measurebator in me keeps telling me how cool it would be to have a D2X or this rumoured D200 instead of the D70 I own at the moment. However, my rational side is not remotely interested in getting either of these cameras, or any of the pro-level cameras offered by Canon. For the level of photography I'm at, which would be a mixture of glorified snapshooting and whishful thinking of becoming half -hell, 1/4- the photographer, say, Charlie Waite is, even D70 is too much of a camera. Yet I bought it not for its badass factor but because I thought that it would carry me all the way up to the level that I have just mentioned, at which point -if ever I can get to it, that is- I'd start thinking about getting a medium-format digital system such as Mamiya ZD and Hasselblad H2D, or whatever is available at that time. If I never improve my photography further than where it is right now, that's fine too; I'll still be perfectly content with my D70. |
