Hi there.

I am looking into renting a 70-200 lens this weekend for some indoor gym photography of floor hockey. Anyone have some examples of something like this they have taken. What type of ISO and shutter speed were you getting at 2.8. I would be interested in seeing some pictures.

I have the 50mm 1.8 that I could use, and would be good for the speed but a zoom i think would be nice.

I have the 28-135 zoom, which is a nice focal length but the 3.5-5.6 is a little slow perhaps for gym lighting.

Any thoughts.

maybe rent primes? I don't know what the pricing is but the 85 1.8 and 135L 2.0 are supposed to be great. I'm not sure how much light there is? Can you go early and see what kinda settings you get at 2.8 with your 50mm? There's a big difference in lighting between a lot of indoor places.

The thing with the 85mm prime, is that then i may as well use my 50mm 1.8 It might be a little too far from the action, but i would get the whole scene i wanted for sure. I thought i might need a zoom, since the players would be moving around quite a bit, and the action my be all of a sudden very close or very far away.
