I am looking to get a small set of strobes just for a small home studio, and i was wondering if anyone had these STOBESand if the have a D70 to use with them.
Oh yes and also could someone explain how these stobes work with the a digital SLR.

I have no experience with the strobes you mention....
I have a small set of speedotron
but for a first purchase I would investigate alienbees

Well, now that you mention it... lol
I'd save up some more and check into Alien Bees. Or if you want cheaper: JTL, or Adorama has some cheap(er) strobes that got some decent reviews. |

I started off with I couple of these (purchased on e-bay). I used them with umbrellas and got some decent pictures from them. You cannot control the output from them so you have to move them around in order to get the right amount of light. It really helped me to understand lighting. I still use them to light my backdrops occasionally. I wouldn't recommend them for professional use but if you are just starting out and shooting pictures of friends they're fine.
