For all you who shot either portraits or weddings when you edit your photos do you crop them to fit a certain ratio or do you print what you have?

The lab that I have begun using has software that allows me to select and drag an image into a crop box and by choosing which size (5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, wallet) I can then move the crop box to maximize my image. In other words, I edit my file first, then crop at time of order. I typically also let them color correct if needed. |

Have the files 100% ready for the Lab, and don't let them "fix" anything!
I've learned that the hard way. The prints come out great, when I say "no corrections at all, plz". |

i usually print at the same ratio my camera captures at. which is 4x6. however, i'll crop to 8x10 if i think the picture looks better than it's original 4x6 format. |

Generally I always edit everything before I go to/send my stuff to the lab. I've had too many bad cropping experiences... I also will not let them do any color correction... |
