i want to get a remote. Do I need a special one? Do they even have one for my type? Thanks.

As far as I can tell the Powershot S2 does not have a connector for a remote control. I googled and saw a few complaints that it doesn't...

You can always Robe-Goldberg something up; put the cam on a tripod, suspend a marble over the shutter release, get a trip cord to release the marble... jejejeâ„¢

Just pay someone to be the remote...it may be costly, but a lot less running is involved.

There are a few self-timer options that may allow you to jury-rig something. I think there is a mode that allows you to take multiple shots with the intervalometer. That will give you not only a self-timer, but a chance to retake the shot a few times. |

ive had a look at this sab and they ship to the uk so may order on of these it works out at about £50 inc carriage so not bad.
