I have two pictures. Both are equally good. One is a creative depiction of d%l, the other a scenic. What kind of photos do you think people will be drawn to more, the creative ones or the scenic ones? My senses tell me to enter the scenic because scenics seem to do very well, but the artistic side of me really loves creative use of camera, (obviously when you look at my pictures) |

i think they will be drawn to the titles more than anything considering the challenge. So have a good title with whatever photo, as long as its good!

If the images both fit the title (i.e. you didn't use an obscure title to shoehorn the entry in), the most appealing one will score better. It makes no difference whether the subject is landscape, portraiture or humor- visual appeal will still carry the most weight IMO. |

I agree with Shannon that the best picture is gonna win, assuming some reasonably direct linkage to the D&L theme. But I have a related question:
does anyone think the voters are gonna be anal enough to care which ORDER the D&L come in your title? Will "Loudmouths & Drunkards" be voted down for not being "Drunkards & Loudmouths"? Reason I ask, is because I can imagine titles where the intials might have to be reversed. For example (and this is nothing I'm working on, anyone's welcome to it LOL) consider "Living Death" as a potential title; it has an L and a D in it...
Robt.

OH yes
I definately think the narrow minded and pedantic set will be out again in full force.
I predict anyone without D&L in that order WITH the "and" sign will get hammered.
so "Lets Dance" will Bomb as will Dogs Legs
only D_____& L______ will survive
Steve

I feel like an idiot being the first one to mention this, but owe well. D&L, I have no flippin idea what it is. I'm pretty new at DP, I've only been here a year, and not a member till just a couple months ago. So anyway if keeping the newbies in the dark was the plan...GJ. If it wasn't the plan does somebody care to enlighten me. |

Bear, I would say that some will and some won't. :-) Seriously, if you're concerned about that, maybe look at the time capsule challenge for some titles and comments to see what happened there. Could provide some insight as to the general direction most will go. |

D&L (normally) stands for Drew & Langdon, the creators of this site.

And what if the title isn't necessarily "D" & "L" but it has a d and a l in it. Like a famous saying for example. Would that work?? |
