After a while your portfolio and challenge entries accumulate. It is hard to keep track of which have 'new' comments on them after a while without taking the time to go back and check each photo. Even with my limited number of pics I can't remember the number of comments each has gotten. It would be nice if there was an indicator of some sort that showed you which comments are new/have not been viewed. Perhaps the comment number could be bold until that pic has been viewed. It doesn't mean you have to check it helpful (although that is nice to do) it would just let you know when looking at your stuff which has new comments you have not read yet.

I think this would also help the 'check comment helpful' disparity. If someone goes through your portfolio and comments on some pics that are not shown on your home page, you don't know it has been commented on unless you go through your portfolio and see it.

The easiest way to keep track of incoming comments on ALL your images - new, old, challenge or portfolio - is to go to your profile once a week and click on the Comments Received number - it's a link to all the comments received on all your images and they are listed in order of most recent so you can very easily see those that have been added recently.
